About Karen

Portrait of Alexander Technique teacher Karen Evans

Karen has more than 15 years' experience teaching a wide range of students.  She qualified in 2004 after a four-year training course with the ITM, one of the leading teaching organisations in the UK accredited with the CNHC.

Her specialisms are music, horse riding and management of fatigue-based conditions.  Her favourite part of teaching Alexander Technique is the moment when a student realises they have it within them to resolve the problem that has been holding them back.

When she is not teaching she divides her time between music, gardening and horses.

The only independently-verified register of Alexander Technique teachers is held by the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).  Teachers on this register have qualified with a reputable training organisation, and are required to keep their skills up to date with regular on-going training.

Please be aware that registration is on a voluntary basis.  Currently anyone can call themselves an Alexander Technique practitioner with absolutely no training or qualifications.  Bear this in mind when choosing yourself a teacher.
